About The Position

Working under the direct supervision of collaborative physicians, physician site leaders, and a practice manager. The PA position is responsible for providing and coordinating medical, surgical and other specialty care to patients under the auspices of a supervising physician or the supervising physician’s agent in various settings. This position will provide patient assessments through patient exams, patient medical history, interpretation of required diagnostic procedures, and developing/implementing treatment and management plans.

Requirements

  • Maintain an unrestricted license to practice as either an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or a Physician Assistant in the State of Connecticut.
  • Be duly registered to prescribe narcotics with both the DEA and the State of Connecticut.
  • Obtain and continue to maintain admitting staff privileges at the Hospitals designated by the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to include office and inpatient diagnosis, and treatment of patients with primarily vascular surgical and medical ailments.
  • Maintain office hours determined by the Company to meet the needs of its patients.
  • Service all patient populations, including Medicare and Medicaid patients.
  • Communicate with attending physician regarding plan of care and involve physician in clinical decision making outside of the knowledge base or scope of practice of the Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding health and illness prevention, medication and treatment instructions, and recommend community resources as needed.
  • Coordinates necessary tests, consultation, and procedures as indicated or requested by the attending physician.
