About The Position

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG), a highly respected 160+ provider, multi-specialty medical group, is seeking a dedicated Advance Practice Provider (APP)—Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant—to join our growing, mission-driven organization. About the Role The Advanced Practice Provider functions in the role of clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and serves as a resource to the physicians. The APP will also assist in the Operating Room as a First Assist under the supervision of a physician. The APP will coordinate clinical services to provide consistent quality of care for patients in the healthcare setting, both clinic and hospital, and is responsible for providing evaluation and management of oncology and hematology services. Conducts physical examinations, provides treatment, and counsels patients and families.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Physician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited PA program
  • Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
  • Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocation
  • Eligible for participation with all payers
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Plastics preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care including histories, physical exams, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatment plans
  • Counsel and educate patients and families using clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication
  • Coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings to support continuity and optimal outcomes
  • Order and interpret appropriate labs, imaging, and consults with attention to quality, safety, and cost
  • Collaborate within a Care Team model to support high-risk patients, care planning, and self-management
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and workflow enhancements
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
