JOB OVERVIEW The Adv, IT The Solution Architect Network is responsible for designing the network architecture, implementing the high-level security standards for data and voice infrastructures. This role also advises the integration of business partners into Mercedes-Benz network. Support all related functions including but not limiting Routing, Security, Load Balancing, IP Address Management, third party, business partners and telecom providers, helping to design and deploy an enterprise scale network. Should be capable of handling traffic for large number of servers. Outstanding skills in routing, DNS, Web Filtering, LAN/WAN, IP Addressing subnets, Firewalls management, Load balancers, Network Security Proxies, VPN and Remote Access. Job requirements include documenting business requirements, collaborating with vendors and business stakeholders and interfacing with technical development teams. The position will also be responsible for troubleshooting second and third level to identify and resolve connectivity problems/network issues with expectations of on call 24/7. The position will be expected to maintain established standards of Mercedes-Benz while working with global network team in Germany and being the SPOC for NAFTA Data Center, Mercedes-Benz Clouds (AWS, Azure,etc) network, change processes and proper documentation. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a variety of responsibilities and settings are crucial to success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) with emphasis on: · Information Technology · Computer Science/ Computer Engineering · Or similar degree, or equivalent experience

  • Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
  • Must have 5 years (total) of experience in the following: · Network design and architecture · Network Operations

Responsibilities

  • Engage with business analysts to identify requirements and capture network changes requested to implement applications needs. Review documented requests for Compliance to change management and networking standards for NAFTA data centers and clouds. Support / coordinate work requests with IT Application teams, business partners and Global Network teams. (50%) o Consults and gathers business requirements from business partners, creates reference architecture standards, creates design documents, and presents solutions to peers and other stakeholders. o Support and consulting of business partners for the development of network infrastructures. o Develops network standards based on emerging technologies and strategic directions fully aligned with Mercedes-Benz HQ guidelines. o Leads the design and development of data network and delivers fault tolerant, robust and highly available network. o Identifies network optimization and automation opportunities, helps develop rollout and upgrades plans and suggests uniform operating models. o Planning, commissioning and responsibility for the development of project management methods. o Mediation between business areas, vendors and business partners in the design and planning phase. o Customer-oriented communication tailored to customer requirements. o Analysis and evaluation of functional and non-functional requirement. o Last-level support for designed network solutions. o Systems Engineering and operational support on 3rd Level with a focus on network infrastructure and software. o Analyses and specifies technical requirements for network infrastructure and components. o Designs network, telecommunications and network security infrastructure concepts and solutions. o Implements, tests and documents network, telecommunications and network security infrastructure concepts and solutions. o Estimates and calculates costs depending on service-components. o Infrastructure Lifecycle Management for integrated infrastructure components.
  • Lead network outage resolution within the NAFTA Region Scope. Collaborate with suppliers, Mercedes-Benz AG, to resolve outages. (20%)
  • Maintain the current NAFTA network environment and support requests for new connections, testing and troubleshooting of issues in Cloud or Data Center environments. (10%)
  • Document all network change requests in accordance with NAFTA region and Mercedes-Benz AG processes. (15%)
  • Ensure compliance of security requirements, ICS needs and architecture guidelines for all needed development. (5%)
