Our Librarians are known for customer service, programming, outreach, collection development/maintenance, administration, and staff development. In this role, you will... Develop and implement standards of service that ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of each inquiry, delivered with the utmost respect and courtesy. Promote understanding and use of the library, its technology, and resources by presenting individual and group training programs. Assist customers by locating answers to questions, including Interlibrary Loan services and referrals to agencies outside the library. Keep abreast of developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries. Aid at service desks and in other sections as needed. Represent Sarasota County and the library/library interests to library users and within the community. Prepare reviews, press releases, bibliographies, and other promotional displays. Analyze and identify service population needs, developing and directing plans to meet those needs. Network with other agencies to provide and obtain materials and services. Participate in setting unit, library, and system goals, contributing to decision-making and the evaluation of progress. Coordinate and oversee Adult Volunteer Engagement, including recruitment, training, and ongoing support.
