About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking caring and compassionate individuals to work as Direct Support Professionals in a 4-bed IDD/ASD adult male group home setting in Sterling, MA. This role involves working within a community setting with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults (over the age of 22). Devereux – Massachusetts is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to helping children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Through residential and community placement services, the organization helps individuals learn independent living skills and make meaningful life choices, providing supportive settings in comfortable home environments. As a Direct Support Professional, you will act as a teacher, coaching and demonstrating skills to increase individuals' independence, a relationship builder, developing positive connections with individuals, their friends, families, and DDS service coordinators, and an environmental manager, monitoring the safety and security of the home and community. Devereux is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations, founded in 1912, providing clinical, therapeutic, educational, and employment programs to over 10,000 children and adults annually. Its mission is to change lives by unlocking and nurturing human potential for people living with emotional, behavioral, or cognitive differences.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver's license required
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA
  • Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred
  • MAP Certified (eligible for a $250 bonus)
