Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an associate degree in a related field with 4 years of health or human services experience; or 4 years of law enforcement or criminal investigation experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with persons from diverse social backgrounds preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Passage of complete background clearance and other required testing.
  • Support for the Codes of Ethics established by Catholic Charities USA, NASW, and APA.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
  • Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive services to the Adult Protective Services Staff, including completing intakes and screening phone calls.
  • Complete APS intakes, obtaining information on allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Screen department phone calls and provide phone coverage to address client needs.
  • Provide follow-up services via phone contacts for clients involved in casework and follow up.
  • Provide telephonic monitoring for clients actively involved in program.
  • Communicate frequently and clearly with Casework Supervisor and Caseworkers regarding client needs identified during follow up calls.
  • Schedule and follow up on reports of substantiation and necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate confidential case records and documentation.
  • Supports in the preparation and distribution of meeting materials as directed by Program Leadership.
  • Assists with the completion of billing tasks, including maintenance of billing logs and spreadsheets.
  • Submits all investigations, casework, and follow up to Illinois Department on Aging for billing after reviewed and approved by APS Leadership Team.
  • Executes purchases and payments for goods and services, following the authorization and instructions of program leadership.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, conferences, and workshops as recommended.
  • Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
