About The Position

The Salvation Army St Paul Citadel Corps is “doing the most good” by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners. The Adult Ministries and Community Engagement Manager leads adult ministries, worship services, and community outreach. Key duties include program oversight, community partnership building, budget management, program evaluation, and supporting seasonal events, while also deepening understanding of Salvation Army teachings.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field. Instead of a degree, experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in community outreach, education, ministry, or related field.
  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; a senior soldier in good standing is preferred.
  • Must pass background checks, possess a valid driver’s license, and meet MVR qualifications.
  • Effective rapport-building and de-escalation skills.
  • High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
  • Flexible interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office products.
  • Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and typing.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
  • Active participation in all activities.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, participants, and the community.
  • Work hours will include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Adult Ministries Oversight: Promote and increase participation in adult ministries, worship services, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Worship and Christian Education: Lead and participate in worship services, Christian education programs, preaching, teaching, and supporting others in these roles.
  • Community Engagement: Build partnerships and represent The Salvation Army to increase community involvement in programming, activities, and volunteering.
  • Budget Management: Ensure fiscal responsibility by managing budgets and monitoring expenditures.
  • Soldiership and Salvation Army Doctrine: Participate in Soldiership classes to deepen the understanding of The Salvation Army’s beliefs and teachings.
  • Program Evaluation: Collect feedback and data to evaluate program success and implement improvements.
  • Fiscal Oversight: Monitor overall budget compliance and ensure programs operate within financial guidelines.
  • Seasonal and Special Event Support: Assist in planning and executing seasonal activities and community outreach events.
