About The Position

The Adult Education Instructor works collaboratively with a team of geriatric education professionals to develop, deliver, and evaluate educational programs that support dementia care training, frontline healthcare workforce development, hospital-based provider education, and community outreach initiatives. This role contributes to the design and implementation of evidence-based adult learning programs that improve knowledge, skills, and confidence among healthcare staff, caregivers, and community members supporting older adults. The instructor assists in curriculum development, delivers educational programming across healthcare and community settings, and contributes to program evaluation and research activities that advance the Division of Geriatric Medicine’s education and workforce development initiatives.

  • 1+ years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and educational programming related to dementia care, age-friendly health systems, and geriatric best practices for frontline staff, healthcare providers, caregivers, and community audiences.
  • Develop and adapt curricula, lesson plans, and instructional materials to support adult learners across healthcare and community settings.
  • Facilitate interactive learning sessions using evidence-based adult learning principles and a variety of instructional approaches, including in-person, hybrid, and virtual training formats.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to assess workforce training needs and support the development and implementation of new educational initiatives.
  • Conduct program assessment and evaluation activities to measure learner outcomes, program effectiveness, and workforce impact.
  • Support division research initiatives by assisting with education-based research activities, including implementation of training interventions, participant engagement, data collection activities, and dissemination of findings related to geriatric workforce education programs.
  • Engage healthcare organizations, long-term care providers, and community partners to support learner recruitment, program participation, and partnership development.
  • Assist learners in overcoming barriers to participation and connect participants with appropriate educational and support resources.
  • Integrate technology and digital learning tools to enhance instructional delivery, program accessibility, and learner engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of educational activities, participant engagement, and program outcomes in accordance with institutional, regulatory, and grant requirements.
  • Provide training and support to volunteers, facilitators, and partner organizations involved in educational programming.
