About The Position

Matheny Medical and Educational Center has a career opportunity for a Full Time Adult Instructor at our Adult Day Program in Hillsborough, NJ. This position operates Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm. Matheny is a special hospital for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Matheny's mission is to provide exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with special needs and medically complex developmental disabilities. Our fully-accredited non-profit private school combines traditional academics with therapeutic intervention and pre-vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program includes seven licensed community residences/group homes and two adult learning centers. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required.
Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of experience working with persons with developmentally disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Addresses the needs of the patient population in an age appropriate manner.
Identifies the needs of patients through on-going assessments, instructional methods, and monitoring programs.
Provides instructional programs which meet the individual needs of patients.
Completes program documentation in accordance with divisional requirements; maintains patient files containing current information related to the patient's program.
Responsible for case management of assigned patients; Reviews all documentation generated by team members; Facilitates progress meetings and creates reports.
Consults with other members of the interdisciplinary team to assemble information consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient; Ensures appropriate instruction is integrated into the patients' overall programs.
Provides additional training in areas outside of specialty instruction.
