Our client is an independent publisher of books and magazines is shifting from traditional retail to digital direct-to-consumer distribution. The small, collaborative team includes in-house design and editorial functions and values clean, consistent typography and efficient workflows. They’re focused on modernizing production while maintaining high standards of quality. This role exists to relieve a production bottleneck between editorial and design by owning the “glue” work of typesetting, template use, and copyedit/proof corrections. It enables faster, more reliable publishing by ensuring content is accurately imported, styled, and prepared for a senior designer’s refinement. The position also supports the company’s shift toward digital/direct-to-consumer by maintaining consistency across print and web touchpoints.
