About The Position

The Admissions Specialist is a dedicated professional who understands the needs, challenges, and benefits of degree completion for adult learners. They are responsible for coaching admitted students on the associated required tasks, best practices, helpful resources, degree completion requirements, and assisting adult learners in the transition to being a full-time student at each of the universities Project Kitty Hawk serves. The Admissions Specialist serves students by offering coaching to the student from the time of the studentâs application being accepted for admission, all the way through their first week of classes. The Admissions Specialist serves Project Kitty Hawk by ensuring that new students are set up for a successful start of class, and that they are laying the right foundation to be a successful graduate from PKHâs partner universities.

Requirements

A bachelorâs degree.
At least 3 years of experience working in higher education with adult students in an online setting.
Demonstrated success in individual and organizational goal-focused performance.
Knowledge of the challenges and needs specific to adult learners in higher education.
Knowledge of and experience with CRM, LMS, and SIS platforms and other technologies used in online higher education and student management.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with adult students.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Knowledge of relevant academic policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
Ability to exercise discretion, professionalism, and good judgement and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelorâs degree in a related field.
3+ yearsâ experience in higher education recruiting, advising, and/or Admissions.

Responsibilities

Connect with newly admitted students, and use discovery notes to help the student complete all remaining tasks and be fully prepared for academic rigor ahead of their classes starting.
Manage student files and keep them engaged as they prepare for classes, sometimes months ahead of the starting date.
Help students assess their readiness for classes and connect them to relevant resources to assist in their successful start.
Complete discovery sessions with students to identify their preparedness, create a clear roadmap for success, and monitor their progress.
Analyze and interpret data to effectively support students and improve conversion rates.
Ensure confidentiality and proper documentation of all student information.
Adhere to and enforce the appropriate security policies based on the sensitivity of company data
Report any security related issues to the appropriate individuals, and
Ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, and timeliness of institutional data used for the conduct of business.
Collaborate with external partners and universities to ensure that the best practices, excellent student service, and high standards are met and upheld.
Participate in professional development activities, attend relevant conferences, and engage with industry associations to expand knowledge and network with peers.
