About The Position

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position. The Admissions Counselor III, under general supervision, functions as the senior-level counselor identifying, recruiting, and contributing to increase the population of admittance and enrollment. Manages recruitment and training programs

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

Counsels and advises prospective students about admissions requirements, policies, statuses, and office programs.
Assists in developing communication plans and strategies to reach prospective students.
Works directly with applicants and their parents to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints, appeals, and options for denials.
Organizes, implements, and reports on programs already in place.
Develops new, high-impact programs designed to recruit students through departmental collaboration.
Analyzes data collected from students prior to the start of recruitment season and applies necessary changes in specific areas to assist with recruitment.
Assists in training admissions counseling personnel and coordinating staff development, training, and scheduling.
May lead training sessions.
Provides specialized admissions sessions and presentations to a wide variety of on and off-campus groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.
