About The Position

This role provides high-level administrative and confidential support to the Associate Dean for Admissions & Financial Aid, as well as general support to the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid at Cornell Law School. The position manages administrative operations such as scheduling, event coordination, financial processing, and front desk responsibilities for the Admissions Office. It also supports admissions processes, maintains applicant records, and communicates with applicants, alumni, faculty, and prospective students. Additionally, the role coordinates tours, recruitment activities, and major admissions events.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, presentations, website editing, and electronic communications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage high workloads during peak periods.
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cornell procurement and accounting systems.
  • Experience using WordPress.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for applicants, alumni, faculty, pre-law advisers, administration, and current students.
  • Greet visitors, respond to inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate office or department.
  • Manage the Associate Dean’s Outlook calendar and schedule meetings for Admissions staff.
  • Edit and prepare PowerPoint presentations for Admissions events and presentations.
  • Prepare Zoom sessions, links and settings for online events.
  • Process invoices and purchase orders and ensure timely vendor payment.
  • Serve as the Admissions purchasing card (P-card) holder in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist with annual budget planning and monthly reconciliation of Admissions accounts.
  • Update Admissions webpages and social media platforms.
  • Prepare and distribute office materials as needed.
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies and initiate service calls when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university data privacy and security regulations related to student records.
  • Follow university policies to maintain legal and ethical admissions operations.
  • Assist the JD Admissions & LRAP Coordinator with admissions processes including application processing, data reporting, and file maintenance.
  • Respond to applicant inquiries and provide application status updates.
  • Monitor and respond to JD Admissions email inquiries and assist with other Admissions email accounts.
  • Coordinate room reservations, registration fees, itineraries, and off-campus events.
  • Coordinate logistics for Admissions events such as Admitted Student Days, Road Shows, and the Fall Open House.
  • Arrange venues, catering, payments, reimbursements, and event setup/breakdown.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities for Admissions leadership, financial aid staff, and alumni/student recruiters.
  • Maintain the master recruitment calendar.
  • Communicate with venues, firms, pre-law advisors, and career offices to confirm event details.
