About The Position

Are you passionate about helping others and creating a welcoming environment? As the Admissions Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face and helpful voice that greets prospective students, families, and community members – often providing their very first impression of our college! In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will: Be the go-to person for admissions-related questions, offering clear and accurate guidance on processes, policies, and college services; Support students through their admissions journey, from first inquiry to enrollment; Manage communications across phone, email, and in-person visits with professionalism and care; Keep detailed records using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce and student database to ensure smooth and efficient service; and Collaborate with a support team and provide occasional backup to the Campus Store. We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys helping others, and can juggle multiple priorities with attention to detail and a positive attitude. This position plays a key role in supporting our enrollment goals and our commitment to student-centered service. You will report to the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, with daily oversight and task direction provided by the Admissions Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to students and the public in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Word processing skills sufficient to create, format, and edit documents using software such as Microsoft Word.
  • Spreadsheet skills sufficient to enter, compile, and retrieve data using programs such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Data entry skills sufficient to accurately input, verify, and edit student records and communications.
  • Communication skills sufficient to explain procedures, respond to inquiries, and prepare professional written correspondence using correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of office or administrative experience; A Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for one year of experience and an Associate Degree may substitute for six months experience.
  • Knowledge of college admissions, registration, and financial aid processes.
  • Database and records management skills sufficient to enter and retrieve data using systems such as ISRS or Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Workday, Salesforce or ISRS.
  • Experience with cash handling or operating a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Somali to support diverse student populations.
