Position Summary Under supervision of the Chief Enrollment Officer, this counselor will serve as a primary territorial manager for new student recruitment for the Office of Enrollment.

Requirements

  • A college degree is required with a preference given to those with experience in an Admissions/Higher Education office setting.
  • Computer information skills and experience is necessary; most specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Facebook, and Twitter/Social Media.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers license, be physically able to lift 40 pounds, be able to travel extensively, and be able to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds with comfort and poise.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and enroll prospective students from assigned geographic region
  • Read and evaluate Applications for Admission from recruitment territory
  • Travel to high schools and college fairs, interview prospective students from regional territory
  • Perform interviews, phone calls, and primary counseling for students and families from regional territory
  • Build relationships with high school and independent counselors in assigned recruitment territory
  • Conduct information sessions and interviews for campus visitors on days as assigned by the Office of Enrollment
  • Travel extensively (approx 6-8 weeks in Fall) for Admission related events in geographic territory. Must be comfortable working and travelling independently with, at times, little supervision
  • Attend all open houses over the course of the recruitment year
  • Submit weekly activity report to Chief Enrollment Officer for discussion in weekly one on one to be collected and tracked through admission cycle.
