About The Position

The Administrator is the full time person in charge as appointed by the governing body. The Administrator has the authority and responsibility for the operation of the surgery center at all times. The Administrator ensures the surgery center is meeting its primary goal of managing the center to operate with the efficiency and customer focus of the best freestanding surgery centers; providing an extra set of hands to help our partners improve surgery with dedication, a sense of warmth, compassion and pride.

Requirements

  • Have at least two years of full-time equivalent experience in administration in a licensed health care facility.
  • Understanding of Local, State and Federal Laws and Guidelines

  • Qualified Candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Business preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administrative policies, procedures, and controls shall be established, documented, and implemented to assure orderly and efficient management of the surgery center.
  • Understand and prioritize customer requirements;
  • Know, adhere to and enforce all policies of the center;
  • Ensure the Director of Nursing is directing and supervising nursing and ancillary personnel in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating patient care in the operating room according to accepted standards.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, selecting and hiring of all staff.
  • Tell employees what’s expected of them – initially and as changes occur; provide and jointly review their written job description at least annually.
  • Evaluate employee skills, needs, desires and plan their development.
  • Establish competence in conjunction with the Director of Nursing for all staff.
  • Demonstrate leadership and teaching ability.
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor Director of Nursing as well as additional management members.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing education and training tailored to employee needs.
  • Tell all employees how they’re doing vs. expectations – daily, weekly, monthly, annually – informally, formally, as a group and individually.
  • Conduct daily employee productivity analysis and ensure efficiency of staff levels through daily increases or decreases in the workforce.
  • Foster teamwork and learning by collaborating with others in their professional development
  • Collaborate with the VP of Surgical Operations and the CAO to make recommendations regarding capital budgets.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with the VP of Surgical Operations, CAO, Medical Director, Board President, physicians and employees.
  • Review all policies and procedures on an annual basis
  • Participate in the planning and budgeting for the center
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed
  • Prepare agenda items and meeting minutes for all required monthly, quarterly and annual meetings
  • At least monthly, and as needed, review with staff any issues occurring at the center, budget guidelines and issues, employee concerns, regulation changes, doctor issues, compliance and quality issues or concerns and any other issues or changes occurring within the organization.
  • Act as the Patient Safety Officer along with the Director of Nursing for the facility as required.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of Performance Improvement.
  • Maintain key quantitative indicators, as defined by the VP of Surgical Operations for the year, to monitor increase/decrease monthly in patient satisfaction, utilization, budget and supply costs.
  • All duties as deemed appropriate
