About The Position

This is a hybrid role doing desktop/user support for a new site and performing system administration. This person will set up this site and may be used to set up other remote sites as needed in other states. The Systems Administrator’s role is to provide support to resolve any end-users’ computing problem, administer networked systems, and maintain proper networked computer operations. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving systems service requests by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all computer hardware and network equipment to ensure optimal systems performance. Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostics and help request tracking tools. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by phone, via e-mail or remotely) in a timely and accurate manner and provide end-user assistance where required. This person will also be expected to work with other team members as part of a continual growth mindset.

Requirements

  • Desktop support and system administration skills
  • Experience with LAN/WAN environment, and Microsoft server application support & administration
  • Extensive application support experience with Windows platforms as well as Terminal Services
  • Working technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, sub netting, DNS, WINS, DHCP
  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening and questioning skills; analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to present ideas/solutions in user-friendly language; ability to absorb and retain information quickly; ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required; ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation and OEM guides
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • High School Degree, or minimally one-plus years of related experience and/or professional training with industry-standard certification(s)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot servers, storage and other infrastructure hardware
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex problems for end-users or infrastructure systems and recommend / implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the datacenter level, including installing, upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups and configuring systems and applications
  • Manage service requests from end-users
  • Act as an escalation point for end-user issues from the Desktop Support team as applicable
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by Telamon.
  • Accurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation and removal
  • Access software updates, drives, knowledge bases and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution. Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
  • Perform preventative systems maintenance, for servers, workstations, printers and network peripherals
  • Document resolutions and analyze trends as a way to prevent future problems
  • Perform server administration duties such as account and resource administration, data backup, and other essential administrative functions
  • Answer to and perform moves, additions and changes as they are submitted; Assist in preparing, maintaining and upholding procedures for logging, reporting and statistically monitoring desktop operations
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved. Perform post-resolution follow–up
