About The Position

Securiport LLC is a US company based in Reston, VA, that specializes in the design and implementation of passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent information reporting and management systems based on advanced technological solutions. Securiport provides a complete immigration processing solution and analytics to maintain border security. Services include technical analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of Securiport’s software solutions, training, and technical support to the field operations. The IT Systems Administrator II is responsible for managing or performing work associated with IT infrastructure & systems administration (internal or outsourcing staff), including installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of IT software and hardware systems, IT data/voice network systems, and internal databases. Provides solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity and receives assistance for more complex issues from higher-level staff.

Requirements

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of the subject matter to apply principles of systems/networks, database management, and computer science
  • Technical expertise in database products and servers
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Windows Server Management
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Technical expertise in Backup products like Veeam, Symantec Backup, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide superlative customer service
  • Ability to work as part of a team using effective interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, or related field required
  • Four (4) years of experience in a related field required
  • In lieu of a degree, a total of 8 years of experience in a related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
  • Four years managing Windows Servers, MS Exchange, Office 365, SANs, routers, and switches

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the uptime, performance, and resource availability of the computers and other IT systems
  • Analyzes and evaluates personal computing products, devices, and systems available in the marketplace for affordability, compatibility, expandability, and ease of use/support
  • Installs and configures PC systems software to optimize performance and integration with client/server applications and info-communications transmission networks
  • Matches the organization's resources with the demand placed on them
  • Monitors the organization's vast area and/or local area network performance
  • Identifies and resolves network problems
  • Upgrades network hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment
  • Ensures the quality, accuracy, and security of Computers and Devices
  • Analyzes functionality and risks for mobile computing devices, including policies and approaches for managing security and data back-up in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments
  • Performs work under general supervision
  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
