About The Position

Professional Engineer Administrators are responsible for management of an assigned district, function or division in the Department of Transportation. Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. Duties included overseeing the management and administration of construction contracts, reviewing project correspondence, change orders, schedules, and proposals to ensure compliance with specifications. It also includes directing maintenance, and communications, establishing policies and goals, and monitoring work performance. The position involves reviewing right-of-way permits, conducting field reviews and recommending changes for compliance. Additionally, the job entails monitoring expenditures, setting priorities for labor and equipment, developing budgets, and representing the department at various meetings and conferences to explain policies and projects.
