About The Position

Administrative Supervisor, Critical Care Unit Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Variable Shift Some local travel required.Some weekend,holiday or night coverage maybe required. Morristown Hamblen Overview: Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women's Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care. Position Summary: A registered nurse who directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient care problems to appropriate nursing staff member and/or non-nursing problems to the appropriate department head. Requirements

  • None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience and experience in the teaching of nursing is desired.
  • Current Tennessee RN license. CPR required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
  • Assists charge nurse to assure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
  • Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
  • Assists new personnel and acts as a resource to the nursing staff.
  • Assists with procedures when staff has difficulty.
  • Acts as advocate to find resources such as supplies as needed.
  • Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
  • Responds to safety codes when necessary.
  • Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
  • Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
