About The Position

This position assists the Executive Administration division of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office by working purchase orders, as well as making deposits and assisting with other administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in an administrative setting.
  • One year of experience working with money handling, basic financial calculations, or related duties.
  • One year of experience with Microsoft Suite.
  • Candidates will be required to pass pre-employment testing of 80% reading comprehension to be completed after interview.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Process deposits for various Sheriff’s Office Divisions
  • Processes P&E money transfers for deposit
  • Creates PO request for the Sheriff’s Office and tracks them through delivery, reconciliation, and final confirmation
  • Research problems with payments for services and purchase orders, including discrepancies in pay and services/ supplies
  • Process invoices for direct payment
  • Track all purchases, compile information , and produce stats upon request
  • Reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Provides data for yearly budget preparations
  • Sort mail and distribute to various Divisions within the Sheriff’s Office
  • Assist with completing office supply requests for the Sheriff’s Office
  • Process training requests, and complete registrations, booking and travel arrangements as needed
  • Submit personnel action forms for new hires, transfers, and promotions
  • Request background check for, issue and cancel Law Enforcement commissions
