About The Position

Under limited supervision from the Facility Administrator, the Administrative Supervisor will independently manage the day-to-day administrative operations and functions of the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home. This role is critical in the execution of facility operations, programs, and services. The incumber will supervise and direct the work of seven administrative staff in addition to producing high quality work to include memos, letters, meeting minutes, and email communications. Under general supervision, position may provide advanced administrative support for the facility-wide leadership team in the processing, coordinating, tracking, and monitoring of administrative functions or perform technical processing activities. Interpersonal contacts include staff and agency customers, to answer questions, exchange or obtain information, resolve more complicated processing issues, ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures, coordinate activities, or report data. Position has administrative supervisory responsibility for seven support positions.

Requirements

  • Coursework/training or experience related to people management; business administration; accounting; customer service; and or/technical support support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Knowledge of: Policies and guidelines of NDVA agency; administrative and office processes and procedures and associated computer applications such as word processing; creating spreadsheets, charts, graphs, reports, and meeting minutes; managing time, schedules, and priorities; monitoring and assessing program performance; applying critical thinking techniques.
  • Ability to: Professionally be able to communicate and exchange information and ideas with others; apply policies, procedures, and regulations; create charts, graphs, and/or reports, and take detailed meeting minutes; track and monitor information; coordinate resources and people; maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust.
  • Background check and drug screen are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supervising at least 5-10 staff in day-to-day business practices as well as performance management
  • High level of professionalism and high-quality communication and customer service skills in a public setting
  • Knowledge of healthcare and HIPAA practices
  • Ability to coordinate large events with a specific attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
