About The Position

A WIC Administrative Supervisor, CPPA, is a non-licensed incumbent providing supervision and training for paraprofessional services that coordinate and monitor WIC-approved vendors for the Greater Baden WIC program. Acts as the outreach and referral liaison between community partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency; five (5) years of experience in health or human service delivery, performing tasks of the job description.
  • Completion of the State of Maryland Competent Para-Professional Authorities (CPPA) Training Program.

Responsibilities

  • OVERSEE THE DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES OF ALL COMPETENT PARAPROFESSIONALS AUTHORITIES(CPPA)
  • CREATE AND MAINTAIN A TRAINING MANUAL FOR PARAPROFESSIONAL STAFF
  • COMPLETE THE QUARTERLY COMPETENCE CHECKLIST FOR THE PARAPROFESSIONAL STAFF. WORK ONE-ON-ONE WITH CLERICAL TEAM MEMBERS AS NEEDED FOR ADDITIONAL TRAINING AND SUPPORT.
  • PREPARE ALL WIC CLINICS FOR MANAGEMENT EVALUATION
  • MAINTAIN VOICE MAIL GREETINGS FOR ALL WIC LOCATIONS
  • MAINTAINING AND UPDATING THE INVENTORY SPREADSHEET, ENSURING INVENTORY UPDATES ARE SUBMITTED UPON PURCHASE, AND INVENTORY NUMBERS ARE PLACED ON EQUIPMENT
  • COMPLETE ANNUAL OUTREACH PLANS AND MAINTAIN OUTREACH LOG TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
  • Quarterly vendor monitoring, and quarterly cashier training and outreach specifically to the vendor.
  • Oversee and train staff at Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program issuance and Pop-up Farmer’s Market events
  • Provide periodic review
  • Assist with quality assurance and delivery of WIC services to assure compliance with all Federal, State, and local agency policies and procedures.
  • Interviews clients to obtain socioeconomic, health, and dietary information.
  • Performs and records height and weight measurements.
  • Performs and records biochemical measurements, such as hemoglobin and lead tests.
  • Screens clients' health and nutritional status and identify issues that put them at nutritional risk.
  • Determines WIC eligibility and completes certifications.
  • Provides WIC food instruments, such as checks or EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards, to certified clients.
  • Provides general health and nutrition information to clients through individual and group sessions.
  • Evaluates the need for and refers clients to other health, food assistance, and social service programs.
