The Montana State Library (MSL) i s seeking applications for an Administrative Specialist. This is a full-time, permanent position that is eligible for all applicable state benefits and retirement. The position is located in Helena and is office based, with some telework options available. The Administrative Specialist is an integral part of MSL's day-to-day operations and is part of the Central Services Team. Who is the State Library? MSL is an agency of the Montana state government. We employ a staff of 50 professionals who are dedicated to providing state government information, natural resources information, and geographic information for all Montanans. We support the development and excellence of Montana's public libraries and reading materials for individuals with visual or physical disabilities. We provide open, free, and transparent data to support the state's land, water, and natural resources programs. Our culture is based on values of service to our users, transparency, and trust. The State Library is a modern, 21st century library. What will you be doing? Office Management: Much of your time will be spent on daily administrative duties, including calendaring, meeting coordination, program support and operations, purchasing, records and property management, and financial services support. This includes support of the MSL Commission, councils, and advisory groups by posting mandatory public meeting notices and online meeting materials, meeting coordination, day-of administrative support, minute taking, and follow up. Communications: Another important responsibility is to provide outstanding internal and external communications in the form of website updates and content management, managing engagement efforts, and assisting with the planning and implementation of meetings, conferences, and other special events. This position interacts with MSL staff, other state employees, vendors, and the general public on a daily basis. What are we looking for?
