About The Position

Provides general administrative support and performs complex clerical duties for the Human Resources Department.

Requirements

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Experience: At least two (2) years' experience in administrative support role
  • Prior experience handling office responsibilities, experience in customer service, or related field
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of business English, spelling, and math
  • General office equipment, including personal computers with related software applications MS Office Suite
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and managerial skills.
  • Skill in the use of computers including spreadsheet design, database programming and word processing software applications
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); scheduling appointments/updating calendars
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Abilities: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens, and elected officials.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Stay calm under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling all front desk reception and administrative duties, including greeting customers, answering phones, Human Resources inquiries, distributing mail and scheduling meetings.
  • Responsible for issuing new or replacement employee badges
  • Scheduling, plan meetings and appointments for the Director and Deputy Director of Human Resources
  • Assist in planning department events, meetings, luncheons, and employee team building activities
  • Types and processes a variety of materials including correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents related to the Human Resources function.
  • Performs purchasing duties and tracks spending plan for the department.
  • Manages office supplies as well as repair and maintenance for office equipment.
  • Directs internal and external customers to appropriate party
  • Sorting and distributing communications in a timely manner
  • Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers and employees
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
