About The Position

Job Summary: The Administrative Specialist works closely with the Director of Access & Neurodiverse Student Success [ANSS] to support the administrative and operational needs of the Office. The Specialist primarily supports the daily operations of the Testing Center for students with declared accommodations and student-athletes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years relevant experience
  • Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently but also as part of a team
  • Requires excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to compose correspondence and reports
  • Requires good problem solving skills involving multiple variables in complex situations
  • Must possess the skills necessary to deliver exemplary customer service
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (word, excel, access, Outlook)
  • Requires ability to prioritize work and to handle several tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Access & Neurodiverse Students Success Office in the daily operation of the office under the direction of the .
  • Monitor activities and projects to facilitate accomplishment of objectives.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Institute Testing Center to ensure compliance with testing accommodations and Institute policies.
  • Manage the scheduling of exams for students with declared accommodations and student athletes, ensuring alignment with academic schedule, testing needs, and deadlines.
  • Confirm testing accommodations are implemented per the approved student plans.
  • Serve as the liaison with the faculty and Schools to secure tests, communicate special accommodations, and ensure timely return of exams.
  • Coordinate with coaches, the Athletic Academic Advisor, and student athletes to meet the needs of student athletes that require flexible test scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the Division of the Chief Information Officer (DotCIO) for technology support of the testing center.
  • Assist the Director in reviewing and improving testing processes to ensure efficient operations to better service students.
  • Monitor and enforce academic integrity policies during testing sessions.
  • Report instances of misconduct.
  • Order supplies and equipment through Institute systems with adherence to Institute policies and processes.
  • Monitor purchases within established budgets and reconcile through the Banner/data warehouse system.
  • Monitor office machines and arrange for equipment maintenance as required; research information and make recommendations for purchases of large equipment, such as printers, fax machines, copiers, etc.
  • Sort, purge, and archive data as directed.
  • File and track all needed FIXX requests for the Testing Center.
  • Assist in organizing events, preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials in support of ANSS.
  • Maintain and organize records, data and correspondence.
  • Serve as a contact ANSS staff who are on PTO or unavailable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
