About The Position

The University of Iowa Academic Advising Center is seeking a detail-oriented and service-minded Administrative Testing Programs Coordinator (80% appointment/32 hours per week) to join our team! In addition, this role supports the coordination and administration of standardized testing programs, including ACT and SAT testing on select Saturdays throughout the year. This position plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Academic Advising Center and the coordination of standardized tests at the University of Iowa. This person will work closely with the director team to coordinate purchasing, travel arrangements, and a variety of administrative needs. The role also provides occasional support to our front office, assisting with phones and reception coverage to ensure a welcoming environment for students and visitors. About the Department: The Academic Advising Center is dedicated to providing academic guidance and support to students as they enter and make their way through the University. The majority of first year entering students and about half of entering transfer students are assigned to an advisor in our office, generally for the first year or two. After that, most students move on to advisors within their major department. We are committed to helping students make a successful transition to the University. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience in an administrative office function (minimum 6 months to 1 year).
  • Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in the following competencies:
  • Desktop Tools : Ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheets).
  • Relationship Management : Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with students, colleagues, and the public.

  • Experience in a related capacity is desirable.
