The Administrative Service Representative Handles a wide range of customer service requests, including matters related to patient belongings, Lost and Found, death certificates, autopsy consent, and coordination of body releases to funeral homes. A caregiver in this role will work Monday and Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00am to 2:00pm and provide additional varying hours to cover PTO for other caregivers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED)
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to meet job‑related needs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service-related role or front desk
  • Prior job experience with typing, computer use, or related coursework.
  • Must be able to input and retrieve data using standard computer systems
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to safely transport and maneuver an autopsy cart containing a deceased patient over short distances, in compliance with established protocols.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • You will be required to comply with this program, which will include obtaining an influenza vaccination on an annual basis or obtaining an approved exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate processing and reconciliation of deceased patients and autopsies between multiple departments, institutes, regional hospitals, and outside entities. This includes facilitating timely releases to funeral home representatives, processing expiration packs, and assuring doctor’s completion of death certificates.
  • Communicate with family members of deceased patients regarding release of belongings.
  • Manage the receipt, documentation, and release of personal belongings for patients, guests, and staff, including oversight of hospital Lost and Found items to ensure accurate tracking and secure handling.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as phone calls, faxing, copying, and mail coordination.
