The Administrative Secretary at JFK University Medical Center within the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) network performs a variety of administrative functions. Reports to the Manager/Director and provides assistance utilizing secretarial support skills to maintain departmental operation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Minimum 6 months previous experience in healthcare or corporate sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Officeplatforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to clinical and operational team members and management.
  • Maintains all calendars related to patients, meetings, conferences etc. as applicable.
  • Schedules appointments, meetings or conferences for departmental personnel utilizinginterdepartmental and/or hospital wide computerized scheduling systems.
  • Prioritizes calls through screening process, transfers calls, records messages, and delivers toappropriate personnel.
  • Coordinates special projects as instructed, composes memos, transcribes notes, and researches andcreates presentations.
  • Execute all team and/or patient related messages, calls, forms in a timely manner.
  • Takes and/or transcribes minutes at assigned meetings.
  • Reviews and distributes daily mail correspondence to appropriate personnel.
  • Meets both department and individual goals.
  • Assists in Research related administrative tasks as required/indicated.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
