About The Position

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for performing secretarial work of considerable variety and complexity for staff positions whose programs and activities are comparable to a regulatory board program. This includes but is not limited to handling all cases in the area of inquiries related to the regulation of educator licensure. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for serving as the support staff to the Manager and Professional Practices Services Investigators.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of computer applications and write grammatically correct
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Ext)

Responsibilities

  • Prepares correspondence, memos and narrative reports.
  • Receives and opens all cases, prepares correspondence related to cases, inputs information into case management system, creates files, prepares and completes certified mailouts.
  • Assists with the preparation and distribution of certified mailouts for all cases pertaining to probable cause and no-probable cause actions as determined by the Commissioner of Education.
  • Prepares, copies and distributes all documents related to the informal conference for investigations.
  • Answers telephone calls, screens and routes the calls as appropriate for Professional Practices Services and respond to inquires for information which may involve the interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains CorrFlow system for the office.
  • Maintains legal opinion files requiring investigation by PPS attorney.
  • Assists with the processing of microfiche and records retention.
  • Assists with ordering office supplies.
  • Prepares and processes travel authorizations and travel reimbursements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
