About The Position

General Definition of Work Performs administrative, technical, secretarial and clerical duties in support of the Residential Department for the City of Cape Girardeau. Essential Functions ● Answers the telephone, takes messages, provides information and transfers call. ● Collects accurate information from caller to process work orders; follows up on all work orders with department supervisors and residents. ● Receives special pickup requests, schedule and maintain database for special pickups, bill charges for special pickups. ● Schedules pick up and/or delivery of trash and recycling carts. Maintains the cart information in MUNIS software. ● Communicates with personnel in the field; provides information for customer service or public safety; processes street closing notifications. ● Resolves customer complaints. ● Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalency and two (2) years of responsible administrative or secretarial and clerical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference may be given to applicants with higher education, additional related training and/or experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll and personnel practices and procedures.
