About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role manages the technical, financial, and market-related aspects of business development services to support strategic, planning, marketing, and operational initiatives of GBMC HealthCare Inc. The resident manages all aspects of project planning to ensure appropriate analyses and development of recommendations on the feasibility of proposed or existing ventures and services. As an MHS student, the resident will shadow senior leaders as an educational experience and perform projects for diverse leaders throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Completing a MHS or MHA degree in Healthcare Finance
  • First Year Resident
  • Knowledge and understanding of management, business planning, finance and marketing
  • Working knowledge of finance, accounting, financial models, market and competitive analysis techniques
  • Advanced skill in using computers and personal productivity applications
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Ability to effectively present to and facilitate groups

Responsibilities

  • Assists with project planning and implementation
  • Organizes and prioritizes workflow
  • Accurately gauges project resource requirements
  • Develops project work plans and tracks results
  • Assists in the development of formal recommendations
  • Gathers, sorts and analyzes appropriate information
  • Effectively compiles analysis results and summarizes the findings
  • Identifies areas of concern/development across the organization and not limited to project-related work
  • Provides consultation on strategic initiatives of the health system
  • Assists in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of GBMC’s strategic plan
  • Staffs project teams in support of various strategic initiatives
  • Validates, through financial analysis, the integrity of GBMC’s strategic initiatives in accomplishing the mission and vision of GBMC
  • Assists with the preparation of business plans
  • Completes implementation plan and annual follow-up
  • Assists with market share data analysis and reporting
  • Maintains current industry knowledge of healthcare financial, cost, reimbursement, market, regulatory and clinical trends, nationally and locally
  • Shadow senior leaders as an educational experience and perform projects for diverse leaders throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
