About The Position

Ohio EPA wants you to join our team as an administrative professional with our Division of Air Pollution Control (DAPC) at our Central Office in Columbus. You can feel this opportunity brewing in the air. In this role, you will process complex technical documents and data to support DAPC’s Asbestos Unit. You’ll work on notifications, inspection reports, and training to ensure all the correct information gets from point A to point B. You will respond to applicants and help them with any holes with missing in their information. You will respond to inquiries and complaints, helping to explain our programs to the public and regulated community. You will also represent the Asbestos Program supervisor at meetings, and you will communicate decisions, directives, or assignments to the appropriate staff. You’ll assist in developing new guidance for the Asbestos Program and coordinate with the DAPC fiscal unit to track fee collection and prepare reports summarizing operational and fiscal activities associated with the Asbestos Unit. You’ll play an important part on special assignments and projects, and you’ll prepare reports, publications, memos, and presentations.

Requirements

  • 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • OR completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; AND 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
  • OR 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.
  • OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities
