This position primarily supports the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) Animal Health – Field Services program by advancing the agency’s mission through external outreach, information dissemination, and stakeholder engagement. The role is responsible for oversight and management of the Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) program, including coordination of animal health data systems and information management activities. This role also serves as the Animal Health Outreach Coordinator and serves as a primary contact and manager for outreach opportunities, resources and inquiries. Within these roles, this position assists with the development, administration, and reporting of federal grants that are critical to sustaining the Animal Health Program’s financial infrastructure. The role also provides supplemental field support during routine field operations as well as during poultry and livestock disease outbreaks, including but not limited to Avian Influenza, Swine Influenza, and Foot-and-Mouth Disease.
