About The Position

Schimberg Co. is a family-owned business serving as a leading distributor of pipe, valves, and fittings in the Midwest since 1918. We are seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provide daily administrative support for our Des Moines location. The ideal candidate will be an expert in organizing and processing the continuous flow of receivers, tickets, credits, and other documents generated in a distribution environment. They will maintain a positive, courteous demeanor during frequent communications with customers, vendors, and co-workers.

Requirements

  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure work output is free from errors
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Communicate with a positive and courteous demeanor
  • Ability to prioritize high volume workload and complete tasks by established deadlines
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and sales staff on routine basis
  • Basic math skills
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Experience in a wholesale distribution environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sort, file, photocopy, scan, and transmit documents by fax or email
  • Answer incoming calls and direct to the appropriate party
  • Respond to requests for information from accounting and front office staff
  • Check status of material returns and credits with vendors
  • Process cash and credit card sales from counter sales
  • Respond to customer requests for material reports and tracking information
  • Assist sales team with clerical tasks whenever there is an opportunity to do so
