About The Position

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is a nationally recognized healthcare organization with over 900 medical providers across 65 specialties in 40+ Houston locations. The Administrative Coordinator role involves providing leadership and coordinating clerical activities for administrative staff within a clinic site. This position serves as the primary management and communication link to administrative staff, ensuring high-quality administrative service to Kelsey-Seybold patients. The coordinator is also responsible for implementing standards, policies, and procedures established by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years medical office experience to include: Face-to-face customer service, cash handling, patient registration, appointment scheduling, medical billing, charge entry/capture, experience & knowledge of managed care
  • OR 3+ years KSC medical office experience
  • Basic PC Literacy
  • Familiarity on Alpha/Num Forms Entry
  • Familiarity on 10-Key by touch
  • Basic math ability
  • Demonstrated ability to speak, understand and write English
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of direct face-to-face customer service experience
  • Insurance/Managed Care experience/training
  • Cashiering experience
  • KSC experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Bilingual- English/Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and coordinates clerical activities of administrative staff working within the clinic site

  • Responsible for implementing standards, policies and procedures formulated and recommended by Kelsey-Seybold Clinic
