The School of Arts & Sciences at Hunter College, the largest academic unit within the City University of New York (CUNY), is home to over 460 full-time faculty across 26 departments and 10 interdisciplinary programs. Serving more than 15,000 undergraduate and 4,000 graduate students, the school delivers the majority of Hunter's general education curriculum and a wide array of disciplinary and pre-professional degree pathways. Hunter college also serves as a hub for the humanities action lab (HAL), a dynamic, collaborative initiative that brings together a growing nationwide coalition of universities, community organizations, and cultural institutions. Hal partners work collectively to create community-curated public projects that explore and address urgent social justice issues through the lens of history and memory. As the national hub, Hunter College serves as HAL's coordinating center, housing the HAL Hub-a small, dedicated team that facilitates the coalition's work. Reporting to Finance Budget Manager, the Administrative Coordinator supports HAL's national coalition of students, faculty, and community organizers by ensuring smooth operations and logistics for participatory memory projects that address social justice issues. This role is central to maintaining HAL's infrastructure, coordinating exhibits, managing finances, and fostering community engagement.
