The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is seeking a full-time Administrative Coordinator . This is a Chicago area-based position. The Administrative Coordinator’s overall responsibilities are to assist with the administrative support of the Governance Department and provide exceptional service to volunteers serving in ABMS governance structures. The Administrative Coordinator will need to travel to the ABMS office in downtown Chicago at least two times per month. The time in the office will be to help digitize old governance records, so dates and timing can be flexible based on the needs of the new employee. The Governance Department provides leadership and direction for the engagement and convening of the ABMS Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Member Boards. The department oversees the committee development process and cultivates Board relations. Established in 1933, the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is responsible for the creation of standards overseeing physician certification in the United States. Dedicated to improving the quality of care to the patients, families, and communities they serve, the 24 ABMS Member Boards develop educational and professional standards and programs of assessment to certify physicians and medical specialists. More than one million physicians and medical specialists are certified by one or more of the ABMS Member Boards in one or more of 38 specialties and 89 subspecialties.
