Primary Location: LEHMAN COLLEGE Bargaining Unit: No Bronx Food Humanities Program (Lehman College, Hostos Community College, Bronx Community College, and the New York Botanical Garden) Position Overview: The Bronx Food Humanities Program — a three-year, multi-campus initiative supported by the Mellon Foundation — seeks a highly organized, proactive, and collaborative Part-Time Administrative Coordinator. This role supports a dynamic partnership among Lehman College, Bronx Community College, Hostos Community College, and the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG). The coordinator will play a central role in ensuring smooth communication, program logistics, student engagement, and administrative operations across all participating institutions. This position reports to the Principal Investigator at Lehman College and works closely with faculty leads, NYBG staff, internship supervisors, and students.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit administration, or community-based programming.
  • Familiarity with CUNY systems and/or Bronx-based community organizations.
  • Interest in the humanities, food studies, or community-engaged research.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison among the three CUNY campuses and NYBG.
  • Coordinate program activities, including course scheduling, faculty workshops, public events, and community-facing programming.
  • Maintain program calendars, timelines, and documentation to ensure smooth execution of all initiatives.
  • Assist with student recruitment, outreach, and onboarding for program activities, courses, and internships.
  • Track student participation, progress toward program requirements, and completion of badges and certificates.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the summer transfer student research and cohort-building experience.
  • Organize logistics for public lectures, symposia, networking events, and open classroom sessions.
  • Coordinate space reservations, speaker communication, event promotion, and day-of support.
  • Collaborate with NYBG operations staff for events held at the Garden.
  • Work with the Lehman Arts & Humanities Experiential Learning Program to identify and place students in paid internships.
  • Support communication between students, internship hosts, and faculty coordinators.
  • Assist with scheduling, documentation, and ensuring alignment between internship experiences and program goals.
  • Serve as the hands-on coordinator and supervisor of summer student interns during June and July 2026, 2027, and 2028.
  • Process student stipends, internship payments, and other program-related disbursements.
  • Maintain accurate records of expenditures, participation numbers, and program metrics.
  • Support annual program evaluation by gathering data, distributing surveys, and assisting with reporting.
