About The Position

The key principle of this job is to support the mission of Abilene Christian University in educating students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world. Scope: Responsible to the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition for serving as office manager, receptionist, faculty support, and working with budget items.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to high school plus three years
  • Knowledge of business math (accounting preferred) and English
  • Typing/Word Processing and telephone skills
  • Good communication skills verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of all department degree plans
  • Well-developed interpersonal and social skills
  • Organizational and detail skills; multi-tasking ability
  • Able to work in a busy environment
  • Flexibility, discretion and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness and courage to take on new skill demands
  • Because of ACU's affiliation with the Churches of Christ, this employee must be a professing Christian and fully supportive of the Christian mission and purpose of the department and university.

  • Ability to lift 20-25 pounds, to bend, stoop, or kneel to access files/equipment

  • Ability to work at a computer terminal, including keyboarding
  • Ability to run errands on campus

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the department chair and faculty
  • Organize and maintain all departmental records
  • Perform budget related tasks
  • Perform compensation-related tasks for faculty and adjuncts
  • Supervise student and part-time office workers and related tasks
