The Administrative & Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the Administrative Manager for meeting communication objectives, assisting with employee engagement activities, and administrative support. Starting Hourly Range: $43.65 - $45.10/hour DOE This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be substituted for a degree Required
  • 5 years of progressive administrative experience Required

  • Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of written materials and corporate publications to include newsletters, marketing, advertisements, and annual reporting.
  • Assist the Administrative Manager with the development and implementation of military and consumer outreach, including the semi-annual customer surveys.
  • Ensure DU brand and logo are used consistently used in accordance with established policy in the course of carrying out assigned duties.
  • Responsible for coordinating employee recognition and engagement efforts consist with established policies under the direction of the Administrative Manager.
  • Assist the Administrative Manager with preparation and execution of the annual DU Cares Employee Giving Program consistent with policy guidelines.
  • Assist with the oversight of all external correspondence either generated by DU or received from external or Government agencies by ensuring the recording of all printed or email correspondence is captured in the company’s correspondence directory.
  • Assist with management of the company’s policy and procedures development program, including maintaining the master database of current and approved documents. Manages the prioritization, annual review and update, preparation, coordination, and distribution of approved policies and procedures.
  • Responsible all aspects for the day-to-day management of the utility’s document control program.
  • Interprets and implement required Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling.
  • Manage the storage, retrieval, archiving, and disposal of documents according to regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, research, reports, and other documents with content generally provided by internal customers.
  • Lead or assist with special projects.
  • Provide administrative support to executive level staff.
  • Serve as the primary backup for the front desk.
  • Learn, adopt, and apply safety programs.
