The Division of Elections for the State of Alaska is looking for an Administrative Clerk 3 to help us keep our elections Secure, Accurate and Fair! What you will be doing: The Division of Elections is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Region II Elections office team. This position serves as the initial contact with the public in person and on the phone, responding to questions about voter registration, and statistics and other information. This position performs specialized, complex clerical work requiring independence, judgment, and initiative. Our organization, mission, and culture: The Division's mission is to ensure public confidence in the electoral process by administering voter registration and elections with the highest level of professional standards, integrity, security, accuracy, and fairness. The administrative team provides support for all voter registration and election management functions. The position must perform extensive data entry into the Voter Registration System with a high degree of accuracy. The position provides information to the public and other agencies requiring interpretation and explanation of voter registration, polling places, absentee voting, candidacy, petitions, and other related information. There are often tight statutory deadlines and many interruptions. In an election year, overtime is required. The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience: Outstanding work ethic and personal initiative Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work when under pressure. Excellent customer services skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive under very limited direct supervision.
