About The Position

This position is located at Pamlico Correctional Institution, a medium security prison with adult male offenders. The Administrative Associate II serves as the backup for Administrative Specialist I Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences There was an update to the Salary Range effective February 1,2026. The new salary range is 31,200 - 51,249 The position’s focus will be assisting the Administrative Specialist I in Personnel by processing and entering staff timesheets on a weekly basis, maintaining the personnel files for approximately 150 staff. This position will schedule position interviews, complete hiring packages, assist with job fairs and hiring events. They will also run daily, weekly, and monthly reports and meet expected deadlines. They will assist with educating staff on available benefits and department services. The Administrative Associate II serves as the backup for Administrative Specialist I and will be able to complete Leave of Absence and Separation packages in their absence. This position requires frequent contact with staff through office appointments, emails and telephone calls. They will maintain spreadsheets to track positions, staff data and timesheets. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Documented knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Documented knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs

Nice To Haves

  • Three months experience in time keeping.
  • Minimum intermediate level in Microsoft Office using programs such as Excel, Outlook, TEAMS, Word, etc.
