About The Position

The UW-Madison Physician Assistant Program is seeking an Administrative Assistant II to support prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and guests by providing the administrative and logistical support necessary for successful day-to-day operations. This position will serve as first point of contact at the UW Stevens Point - Wausau campus providing information and triaging inquiries to appropriate entities in-person, via phone, and by email. This role requires excellent administrative, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Collaborative individuals who can think on their feet are encouraged to apply. Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, or as determined with your supervisor This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus location The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) in the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH), supports SMPH by overseeing all aspects of various health professions education programs: from admissions programs and curricular oversight to student services and multicultural initiatives across our statewide campus. It also is responsible for successfully meeting all national accreditation requirements as well as timely compliance with all health system, school, campus, and legislative policies and regulations. The OAA fosters a professional atmosphere to prepare health care providers and public health professionals at all stages of career development. Requirements

  • At least one year of professional administrative support experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews
  • Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement
  • May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals.
  • Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events
