Lynch Metals, a subsidary of Metals USA, is seeking an Administrative Assistant in our Union, NJ location. Lynch Metals is a leading metals processor/distributor in North America, providing a wide range of carbon steel products and services. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Ability to communicate both oral and written effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism & diplomacy to include telephone etiquette
  • Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented, accountable organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones and address the needs of the front desk
  • Greets and screens incoming visitors in a professional manner and promptly notifies appropriate person of their arrival.
  • Distributes incoming mail daily and prepares outgoing mail using postage meter.
  • Operates standard office equipment.
  • Maintains an adequate office supply inventory and requisitions additional items as needed.
  • Files documents in the appropriate order.
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
  • Assists the accounting and purchasing departments as needed.
  • Additional accounting support as follows:
  • Send statements to customers and follow up regularly on past due payments.
  • Release customer credit holds.
  • Prepare new customer setup files.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed
