About The Position

As the Administrative Assistant for Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two One (HX-21), you’ll provide high-impact executive and office support to a team that conducts cutting-edge developmental flight testing for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. From rotary-wing aircraft to advanced tilt-rotor platforms, HX-21 plays a critical role in strengthening training, combat, and combat-support capabilities, and you’ll be at the center of keeping everything running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a support role, enjoys being the go-to person others rely on, and who takes pride in contributing to a mission bigger than themselves. This description outlines the general nature and scope of the role. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of administrative support experience required; prior support to DoD/NAVAIR programs is highly valued.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu prior experience, although some administrative experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Experience with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) is required.
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • You possess professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Your organizational skills allow you to manage competing priorities.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the Defense Travel System (DTS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of BASICS II (Base Access Security Information Control System) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations in a dynamic squadron environment.
  • Research and compile information to create briefing charts and high-quality presentation materials.
  • Maintain personnel security files (both paper and electronic) with accuracy and discretion.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, draft correspondence, route calls, and perform a range of administrative tasks, from routine to highly detailed.
