About The Position

This position provides support to the Nursing Staffing Office by producing daily nursing coverage schedules for twelve patient units, the Nursing Staffing Office, and the admissions office, ensuring coverage meets minimum practicing standards for unit acuity and census. The role involves answering phone calls, logging staff call-outs accurately and timely, and directing callers to appropriate personnel. The Administrative Assistant will keep the Nursing Staffing Office assigned shift RNM apprised of all staffing issues, including callouts, employee lateness, and leave. Additionally, this position manages the development of administrative databases, programs, and systems, and provides clerical services to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of day-to-day Hospital operations. The role supports the organization's mission through active clerical participation in clinical efforts within a forensic hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
  • Three years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data entry, database management, data tracking and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Windows 10 or later version
  • Experience with written and verbal correspondence to assist staff or patients
  • Experience providing secretarial support to an official, administrator or an administrative staff
