About The Position

Friends University is seeking to fill Full-Time Administrative Assistant - Residence Life position in Wichita Kansas. This position provides administrative support and clerical assistance to the Director of Residence Life & Conduct, Residence Life staff, Resident Assistants, students who live on campus and others in the Friends University community. Additional duties include Provide organization to large departmental projects by creating and maintaining filing systems, preparing large communications to the student and general campus community, completing data entry, and tracking information. Track daily housing applicant activity and oversee housing and meal plan charges and deposits. Participate in resident assistant development and help oversee residence hall move-in days. Requirements

  • Two years of secretarial or related administrative experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, and database systems required (Microsoft Office products preferred).
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information in a professional manner is required
  • Comfort using administrative systems, data-tracking tools, and office technology.
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing processes related to housing, meal plans, and departmental operations.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing when to seek guidance or refer complex issues to Residence Life professional staff.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and professionalism in supporting departmental goals and student needs.
  • Comfort using administrative systems, data-tracking tools, and office technology.
  • Ability to learn new systems and adapt to changing processes related to housing, meal plans, and departmental operations.
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing when to seek guidance or refer complex issues to Residence Life professional staff.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and professionalism in supporting departmental goals and student needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Banner and/or Blackboard Transact is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
