About The Position

Maintains and oversees efficient administrative functions of the Department. Executive Assistant administrative support for the Chair, Associate Chair and other faculty as well as support for the teaching and research mission of the Department. Decision making role for numerous day to day functions in the department.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Work Experience: Administrative Office (5 Years)
  • Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees schedule and correspondence for the Chair
  • Coordinate faculty searches – including scheduling interviews and coordinating all arrangements associated with visits.
  • Coordinates faculty courtesy appointments and faculty leaves
  • Assists with event coordination for Departmental conferences, symposia, receptions and award ceremonies and memorials
  • Assists with coordination of the Departmental Colloquium Series, Brown Bag Series and Workshops
  • Facilitates all aspects of faculty tenure/promotion reviews for tenure track and teaching faculty, including third year reviews.
  • Attend and record minutes of faculty, staff and search committee meetings
  • Create and maintain files on all faculty and emeritus faculty including confidential material regarding salaries and promotions.
  • Order, distribute and maintain database for all departmental keys
  • Co-coordinate room scheduling for Department space.
  • Co-coordinate participant payment processes
  • Backup approver and reviewer for workday FIN transactions.
