Administrative Assistant II Genomic Education | The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) Bar Harbor, Maine | Full-Time Make an Impact Behind the Scenes of World-Class Biomedical Research Education The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Assistant II to support our Education team in Bar Harbor, Maine. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and enjoys keeping people, schedules, and information running smoothly. As an Administrative Assistant II, you’ll play a vital role in supporting education programs that advance scientific discovery and training worldwide. You’ll provide day-to-day administrative support while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information. What You’ll Do In this role, you will: Serve as a first point of contact by answering and directing emails professionally Manage calendars, schedules, appointments, and itineraries Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements Prepare and submit expense reports Create, edit, and format documents, spreadsheets, and presentations Prepare reports, correspondence, and meeting minutes Provide general administrative support and assist with routine and moderately complex tasks Interact with internal and external contacts with professionalism and discretion You’ll work under moderate supervision, with the opportunity to use independent judgment and contribute to the smooth operation of the Education team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of administrative or office support experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proven interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with standard office software
